KEY INGREDIENTS:

Gotu Kola

First grown in India, gotu kola can be found in the Himalayan Mountain Range. According to Dr. Frawley, a leading Ayurvedic doctor, yogis ingest the plant prior to meditation because of its calming, stabilizing effects on the body & mind. This potent herb is known to balance both the right & left hemispheres of the brain & is tridoshic in nature, meaning it is balancing to all three doshas. Gotu kola is a brain tonic, as it revitalizes brain cells & is also packed with Vitamin C.

Tulsi

For over 5,000 years, tulsi has been revered as both a sacred & powerful plant which contains sattvic or harmonious energy. It is considered a form of Lakshmi, the Hindu goddess of healing & abundance. Modern research shows that tulsi is an adaptogen, meaning it helps the body adapt to environmental, physical & mental stressors. Tulsi is also known to impart lightness, warmth & clarity to those who commune with her. There are three kinds of tulsi: rama, vana & krishna. We use tulsi vana in this blissful tea.

Rose

Rose flowers open the heart & mind while soothing heated emotions such as anger, irritability & jealousy. Rose tea is recommended when one is feeling down &/or stressed, as this flower is known to enhance mood. It is high in vitamin C, which is beneficial to the health of the immune system. Rose also contains the antioxidants, myrcene & quercetin, which maintain healthy cells. Lastly, this aromatic flower aids in healthy digestion, elimination & reduces inflammation.

Licorice

Calming to the mind & nurturing to the spirit, licorice is considered a sattvic or harmonious herb in Ayurveda. This sweet-tasting root provides strength & moisture to the mucous membranes of the body; thus, providing hydration from the inside out. According to Dr. Frawley, licorice also nourishes the brain, increases cerebrospinal & cranial fluid & works as an effective expectorant. Lastly, this potent root improves voice, vision, hair & complexion.
